WHAT IS THE TUTORING PROGRAM ALL ABOUT? click here
Many of the students we counsel struggle with learning disabilities, attention deficits, and behavioral difficulties that impede their academic performance. These problems compound their mental health issues and decrease their feelings of self-worth. Anchorpoint Counseling Ministry’s tutoring program offers academic assistance to students in grades K-12th who are currently participating in our counseling program.
Volunteer tutors are carefully matched with a student according to the child’s needs and the tutor’s grade preference and subject expertise. They spend a minimum of one hour per week after school, one-on-one, assisting with homework assignments, providing remedial activities and instruction, and fostering good study habits.

Please be aware that our program was put in place to assist young people who are currently receiving counseling assistance with us. Our program is possible due to the generous efforts of our volunteer tutors. Currently, there is a waiting list for these services. On a limited basis we will accept children into the program who are only seeking academic help.
