In 1966, North Hills Area churches created Anchorpoint Counseling Ministry (formerly the North Hills Youth Ministry Counseling Center) as a non-denominational outreach ministry to teens. Moving from this emphasis on teens, in 1982 the ministry began working with parents, the primary influence determining the health and well-being of the family.
What about today? Anchorpoint Counseling Ministry now provides professional counseling services for individuals, youth, families, and couples.
We have:
Parenting education classes and workshops Discussion groups for parents of teens 40 Developmental Asset education and Act 48 professional training for schools Tutoring/mentoring (Youth Development Program) Bereavement support groups Master's level Clinical Internship program
Uninsured clients pay on a sliding scale fee basis. No one is denied service due to financial contraints . We are credentialed to receive third-party insurance from Highmark, MN Net, UPMC, Aetna, Cigna, and United Behavior Health.
